Introduction: This code crack is one of four possible code cracks. Yes, four. For each thing you do the game will give one four passwords when you die or finish the stage, so remember you will see different codes than the ones you have cracked.
Important: It is extremely important to know several facts. First, when you wish to add Zero’s Beam Saber, you must make sure all the bosses are destroyed (this does not have to include Vile, Bit, or Byte) and Zero must be dead or the code will not work. Next, if you wish to add enhancement chips, you have a limit to three. If you try any more then none of the chips are active. Also, the Arm enhancement chip will disable you from firing if don’t have the Arm upgrade. Finally for some things you may add it or destroy it yet you do not see any difference. Well, you should remember that some of the enhancement chips are useless without an upgrade for the same part and that you will only notice if Bit, Byte, or Vile is killed at the beginning of the second Doppler stage. Always remember that you must count the amount of things you have added and change numbers depending on whether they are odd or even. When you see N. Tiger Subtank w/ an even # of Upgrades/Subtanks or N. Tiger Subtank w/ an odd # of Subtanks this includes N. Tiger Subtank. Most importantly you must remember to change all of the spaces necessary for a certain thing. Always double check your work. You should now be ready to start cracking codes.
Some tips: At some point you will notice that some codes use the space for a number that must always change for a certain group of items. In this case simply refer to the code grid that tells you what to do in that case, but to make it easier finish the category that you are working on then immediately go to the category that has the number you need to change and count the number of codes so you can determine what the number should be. If it is the same as it would be, then make the change as you would normally; if it is different just refer to what you should do. As you will see the codes are arranged by which space is used.
After reading this you should now be ready to start cracking. Good luck.
A reader submitted some corrections. Assuming I have recorded the changes correctly, if Bit/Byte/Vile are defeated, the numbers change as noted. If they are destroyed (meaning you get new bosses in the fortress), you need to apply changes to both any slot that says “defeated” for that character, as well as any slot that says “destroyed.”
