It’s not uncommon for toy companies that think they can get away with it to make toys which imitate well-known brands. In this instance, the character designs for these toys bear a strong resemblance to the Mega Man series.
Look, it’s Mega Man and Proto Man fighting Guts Man and Elec Man!

It’s curious that the actual toys don’t entirely resemble the box art; the robots are cutesy in the art and more menacing in the toys, with muscles and such...it’s almost like the difference between the games and the Mega Shows!
